Depending upon the nasal or sinus surgical procedure you have had, you can expect to be treated with antibiotics to reduce the potential for infection. While a small amount of post-operative bleeding is common and stops within several days, call your physician if it persists or becomes severe. You may also be directed to inhale a salt-water solution to reduce any crustiness or dryness. Additionally you will be told when and how frequently to blow your nose to clear debris from it. Any surgical stitches will dissolve and you will typically have a follow-up appointment with your doctor in about four weeks after surgery.
Any questions or concerns you have should be discussed openly with your surgeon, who is there to assist you.
