CO2 Laser Surgery: Care After Surgery

After surgery, the throat will usually be sore and there may have ear pain as well. Sucking on ice cubes or frozen fruit pops, eating ice cream or sherbet, and drinking cold liquids provides relief as well as bed rest. While recovering, keep in mind that there is an increased susceptibility to infection. It is advisable to avoid crowds and exposure to anyone who may be ill. If bleeding from the mouth begins, report it to your doctor immediately.

Any questions or concerns you have should be discussed openly with your surgeon, who is there to assist you.
