What Causes Sinus/Breathing Problems?: When Should I See a Doctor?
While cold symptoms usually go away within a week it is not normally necessary to consult your doctor. However, it is recommended that you see your doctor when you have any of the following symptoms:
- Wheezing (especially in children)
- Persistent earaches
- Fast or difficult breathing
- Persistent high fever (over 101º)
- Drowsiness
- Chest pain
- Green or yellow mucus
- Cold symptoms that do note ease within a week
- Persistent headaches
- Nosebleeds
